It’s only been seven days since McCain and Palin lost the election and yet there’s already talk about Palin running for president in 2012!!! She’s not even qualified to be Vice President so why in the world would anyone even consider her for the highest office in the country? This completely blows my mind. Oh, and did I mention that it terrifies the hell out of me? The GOP will have four years to groom the caribou barbie into whatever image they see fit for an election. She will have four years to memorize whatever she’s told. She’ll have enough time to remember enough rebuttals to questions that she might actually convince voters that she has a brain. The thought is scary. I’m really hoping that this is all just media hype and that she will go back to being a governor of Alaska.

Working on my pedal board. Trying to figure out what my new order my pedals are going to go in. Sometimes this process can take hours. It’s something that you can only understand if you have a pedal board. It’s both a great love and a great burden. They are my babies.

Shaw got a printer and we’ve been printing black and white photos like crazy. Here’s what I’ve managed to decorate my office with. I plan on adding more pictures as I find them. They have to be funny, ridiculous, or gross in order to make the wall though.

I’ve been working on new songs but still haven’t finished them. I’m making the first initial mixdowns to send off for further opinions.

I handle a lot of computer repairs… It’s what I do. There are some tasks that are more stressful than others. I would have to say that my least favorite type of repair is specific to laptops. Laptop repairs are so inconsistent. Depending on the manufacturer and the engineers that designed them a laptop can range from simple to extremely difficult to repair. Johnny Blaze and I have been working on an Asus AJ8r laptop that had a malfunctioning LCD hinge that caused a slew of other problems to occur (other parts breaking because the hinge was stuck). This hinge was SUPER STUCK. John and I tried moving it with two pairs of pliers and it was still tough. Either something was spilled on it or whatever lubricant was there is now gone. Anyway, SUPER STUCK.

The broken hinge was causing a lot of stress on a number of other components in the case. We will have to replace the following:
Bottom and Top Case Assembly
Left and Right Hinges
LCD Bezel
LCD Brackets
Oh did I mention that this particular laptop has 60+ screws? It does… They are all over my workbench organized in various steps and sizes. We also discovered that in order to detach the display from the board we either had to completely disassemble the LCD or the entire bottom case assembly. Needless to say it’s a headache. This wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t so damn hard to find a service manual or a disassembly guide. We googled long and hard for one but came up empty handed. It seems that ASUS keeps a watchful eye on such things.
