goodbye wisdom teeth

I went into the Oral Surgeon’s office at 9AM today to have my upper wisdom teeth removed. I was a little nervous going into the procedure because I always read about the rare cases in which something goes terribly wrong. Nothing went terribly wrong. Actually, everything went really well. I have a really good doctor so that made for a somewhat pleasant experience. I mean, as pleasant as having one’s wisdom teeth removed can be… The sounds of drilling, taste of blood, and smells of powdered teeth aren’t something people usually find relaxing. Anyway, thanks to the numbing shots and steady flow of nitros oxide, my nerves were able to calm themselves. It was all over in about an hour and immediately after I was finished I wanted to get a milkshake from Steak n Shake. I’d like to think that I deserved one after all of that.

The milkshake is gone. I drank it and watched the movie ‘Bongwater’ on netflix. It was cheesy but funny. I figured I would be in more pain than I am but I’m not complaining about that. I told all of my professors that I was probably going to be absent on Friday but I don’t think that’s going to be the case. My mouth is a little sore but it’s nothing like when I got my bottom wisdom teeth removed. I don’t feel incapacitated at all. I guess I’ll see how it feels in the morning and make my decision then.

I would have taken some pictures of the teeth but unfortunately they were destroyed in the removal process. Ah well, I didn’t really need them anyway because the tooth fairy is complete bullshit (sorry kids).
