Damn, it feels good to be back amongst the carnivores. I have more energy and I don’t feel like I have to eat something every 30 minutes. Plus, it’s kinda/sorta delicious. I mean, I’m not going to switch over to the dark side completely. I’m not going to eat ridiculous quantities of meat at every meal. I’m actually trying to stay away from meats that are raised in ways that I don’t agree with. This includes all meats that are fed things that they wouldn’t eat naturally. You know… like cows being fed corn instead of grass. That kind of thing. Anyway, whilst I was busy being a pescotarian there was one thing that I missed a shitload. BACON!

Lauren and I made a trip down to the locally owned Downtown Farm Stand and picked up a pound of Nitrite Free Bacon, tomatoes, and strawberries. The owner of the store is a swell guy and told us all about the nitrite free bacon. It didn’t take much to sell us on the idea of buying meat that’s only treated with water and salt versus meat treated with various chemicals and tenderizing enzymes.

So yeah, we went home and cooked it all up and man was it awesome. There’s nothing quite like the smell of bacon. It’s crippling to even vegetarians with iron wills. Granted it should only be consumed in moderation, but damn is it delicious.

First things first… You gotta chop that shit up.

Secondly, you gotta set up a sandwich assembly.

The third step involves the cooking. It can be done in a pan but we decided to use the panini grill that Lauren’s mom bought me.

Last but not least… You gotta marvel at what you’ve created.

Oh, and don’t forget to eat. Mmmmmm
