She’s not even qualified to be Vice President so why in the world would anyone even consider her for the highest office in the country? This completely blows my mind. Oh, and did I mention that it terrifies the hell out of me? The GOP will have four years to groom the caribou barbie into whatever image they see fit for an election. She will have four years to memorize whatever she’s told. She’ll have enough time to remember enough rebuttals to questions that she might actually convince voters that she has a brain. The thought is scary. I’m really hoping that this is all just media hype and that she will go back to being a governor of Alaska.

Democracy is a fierce and fickle mistress. It’s awesome when it’s on your side and sucks the biggest dick when it gives you the cold shoulder. We’ve all had our ups and downs. I personally have felt as if democracy has given me a good dose of the ‘blue balls’ for the past eight years w/ Bush. Now it’s time to move forward. We finally have a president that knows how to speak to large audiences and fill them with the energies necessary to get things accomplished.

So yeah… FUCK YEAH America. I would have been just as pleased had we elected Ron Paul but either way… Fuck Yeah. I should have been studying all night for my Latin quiz tomorrow but all I have to say is this…

So much history has taken place in the past 24 hours that my head is about to explode. Indiana has gone blue and we have a black president! So awesome…. I’m exhausted… Too many rum and cokes.

Gnight.

I made it a point to watch both the Democratic National Convention AND the Republican National Convention. After watching both, I have come to the conclusion that the Democratic Convention was WAY better. Everything about it just seemed better. The speeches were flawless and every issue I could think of was addressed in detail. There was an overwhelming energy that seemed present that could be sensed even through the television broadcast. I could feel the excitement of everyone there.

I didn’t feel the same energy while watching the RNC. Actually, the people at the RNC didn’t seem to be very excited at all. This could be due to other issues that I’m not aware of. I mean, there was a hurricane taking place at the exact same time. Regardless, I had to fight off the urge to change the channel more than a dozen times. I’m all about America but I couldn’t stand hearing people say “Country First” over and over again. The whole message just sounded forced. I noticed a lot more religious references at the RNC than at the DNC. It’s possible that I missed the religious references during the DNC due to the fact that I was studying for class. Either way, I seem to remember the references being more prevelant during the RNC. Ah well, it’s politics… both sides are in it for the votes.

So which convention did you like best? Did you even care to watch either of them? What did you do instead? Feel free to share.
